Slip Resistance Rating

The slip resistance rating of flooring indicates how well the surface resists slipping, which is particularly important in wet or high-traffic areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and commercial spaces. This rating helps to assess the safety of the flooring, particularly in areas prone to moisture.

The R-rating (Resistance to Slipping) is commonly used to evaluate slip resistance in wet conditions. The scale goes from R9 (low resistance) to R13 (high resistance).

R9 (Low Slip Resistance):
Typically used for dry areas with minimal moisture. It is not ideal for wet conditions but may be suitable for residential rooms with low risk of water spills.

R10 (Medium Slip Resistance):
A moderate slip resistance, suitable for areas that may experience occasional wet conditions, like living rooms or kitchens without standing water.

R11 (Good Slip Resistance):
Commonly used in commercial or residential spaces where there is a higher risk of spills, such as kitchens or bathrooms.

R12 (High Slip Resistance):
Ideal for wet environments, such as commercial kitchens, bathrooms, or swimming pool areas, where slipping is a safety concern.

R13 (Very High Slip Resistance):
Often used in industrial or commercial environments, including factories or areas where water or liquids are regularly present.
